Now win The Jerusalem Puzzle paperback! First copies are in!
I have just received the first paperback copies of The Jerusalem Puzzle from Harper Collins!

The winner of last week’s competition was Maria McAnamee. A copy of The Istanbul Puzzle will be on its way to her soon.
This week’s winner will receive a signed paperback first edition copy of The Jerusalem Puzzle, posted free to where ever they are in the world. They will be among the first to receive the physical novel. I have to admit the book looks and feels amazing. The title is embossed in gold on the cover!
All you have to do is share this page on Twitter or Facebook and comment below to tell me what you have done. One person will be chosen using a random number generator from the list of comments. I don’t expect more than about 30 to do this so you will have a reasonable chance. I will also run the same competition next week so keep sharing and your chances will go up!
Thank you all for sharing and for all your support. The Jerusalem Puzzle has reached number 68 in the overall UK Kindle chart.
If you have read The Jerusalem Puzzle please go to Amazon and review it on the US site here or on the UK site here.
Thank you everyone again for your continuing support on this journey! I hope you win and will do my best to give away as many copies as I can between now and the end of January.
The Jerusalem Puzzle – this week’s winner & new competition
The Jerusalem Puzzle ebook is now available for download for Kindle in the US here and in the UK here.
The paperback, from Harper Collins, will be available in January 2013.
This week you can win one of TWO signed copies of The Istanbul Puzzle, the first novel in the series, by sharing this post. The paperback will be posted to anywhere in the world.
Please comment below to notify me that you have shared this post or linked to it in Twitter, Facebook or on your blog.
Last week 35 people entered. I used www.random.org to pick a number between 1 and 35 and Mark Tapson came up as the winner. You can enter again by sharing again (new winners each week) and this week you will have 2 chances to win!
Please do not buy The Jerusalem Puzzle if you are easily offended!
It includes references to Jesus’ trial, an attempt to extract revenge on a religious institution in Jerusalem and child abuse. Whatever you think of it, good or bad, I hope you will review it on Amazon.
And if you read The Istanbul Puzzle please go to Amazon and review it there too. It has attracted a few attacks recently.
The image below is of a street leading to the entrance to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the old city of Jerusalem in the early morning. Sean passes this way in The Jerusalem Puzzle.
Thank you everyone for your continuing support on this journey! I await your comments and shares and the reviews!

News on book awards & The Jerusalem Puzzle
The excitement is mounting in the run up to the Irish Book Awards on Thursday night. I will post the result as soon as I can.
I don’t expect to win the Crime category for The Istanbul Puzzle. But we will enjoy the gala dinner with dinner suits, black tie and long dresses and authors glaring at each other and others getting drunk!
In other news The Jerusalem Puzzle has broken though the 1,000 rank barrier on Amazon.co.uk, which means preorders are going well.
If you haven’t ordered your ebook for Dec 3 yet here are the links. ,amazon.co.uk first then amazon.com then iTunes.
I am sure it will be out at the same time on Nook, Kobo and other ebook service:

The Jerusalem Puzzle proofs & new tag line
A Brutal Murder. An Ancient Evil. A Secret Revealed.
This is the new tag line for The Jerusalem Puzzle
I sent my corrections to The Jerusalem Puzzle page proofs back to Harper Collins on schedule at 5am this morning. The proofs were a PDF document with 400 pages showing exactly how the book will look when it is released in paperback format 3rd January 2013 and in ebook format 3rd December, in a month and a half.
I listed corrections, words to be deleted mainly with some typos and a few insertions on twelve pages. This is probably the last time I will have a chance to make corrections before the book comes out.
I am excited and anxious. The book could do well, very well or badly. Welcome to the world of publishing. Being a writer is definitely not a steady job. The uncertainty, the expectations you have and the expectations of others, spoken and unspoken, all add to the pressure.
I don’t mean to underplay my excitement at having the second novel in the series published, I am simply being honest about how it feels on this journey.
There are some exciting things planned, I will be running a competition on this blog, and a different competition on my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/theistanbulpuzzle so do Like it if you are on Facebook. There is other stuff planned too.
Already a competition has started on the Authonomy, the aspiring writers site, to get short stories published along with my ebook next year http://blog.authonomy.com/
A series of announcements will be made in the run up to the ebook launch Dec 3rd.
